Levi's House has two pastors. Phil Appling a pastor and he and Linda are the hosts of Levi's House. Phil answered the call to the ministry as a teenager. He was awarded his Masters of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary having already served as pastor for a few years. Since that time, Phil pastored churches across the midwest before settling in Kansas City in 1989. God placed on his heart the people of the Sudan, which prompted him to take a solo missionary journey to that country in 2004. There, thousands of people heard the gospel and were baptized in the name of Jesus. Levi's House is commissioning Phil to return to Sudan to preach to 100,000 people and build a schoolhouse in February 2010. He and Linda, a teacher in the North Kansas City School District, have been married over 25 years, have two grown sons and two miniature daschunds, Annie and Oliver.

Matt Appling is the second pastor at Levi's House. Matt answered his calling to the ministry while pursuing his B.A. in graphic design at UMKC in 2004. He was awarded his Masters of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary 2009. Matt is a teacher at Brighton Academy. He and his wife, Cheri, a veterinarian in Independence have been married five years.

Jake Pullen is our worship leader, employing a mix of modern music from the likes of Waterdeep and Robbie Seay with reworked hymns that have provided the musical foundation for churches for many generations. Jake and Matt attended Southwest Baptist University - Bolivar, MO together where Jake earned a Bachelor's degree in graphic design. Today, he and his wife, Nickie live in KC with their two cats, Rusty, and Deuteronomy. Jake wears a beard for about half the year, which some believe enhance his musical abilities.

Levi's House is also led by a leadership team that makes important decisions, but most everyday decisions are discussed and agreed upon among the general group.
